I used to have some writing talent

I was looking through an old creative writing notebook and thought you all might enjoy this one. :) The original exercise was to create a character. This is from almost 5 years ago actually - dated March 5th, 2005. There is quite a bit of swearing so hopefully no one is offended. If you are don't read it and tell me you did anyways. ;)

Tony Katzming...the biggest druggie you'll ever meet. Holy shit. Everyone called Tony "Katz."

You first meet Katz when some friends of yours take you to a party and he is there. Your eyes meet and hours later you two are on the couch smoking joints and drinking God knows what. You notice everything about him: shaggy brown hair, short and stubble snoz, and li[s so bright and full that would taste like tequila, which they did most of the time.

Everyone says you'll notice Katz's bright, green eyes first, which is the truth. Everyone says they're like a drug. You hear all the stories, how he could have become a model with those eyes. How he could have become a famous actor and been on the "OC" if it wasn't for that damn, yet hot, Adam Brody. Nope. Instead you two are sitting in his basement getting drunk as fuck instead of sitting at some chic restaurant in Hollywood.

As the night goes on you ask him about his family. That triggers something. Instead of staying the happy-go-lucky drunk he goes into the depressed, crying drunk. Even though you guys are long gone Katz informs you every detail about his childhood.

"My dad died of cancer when I was 4."

"Oh...I'm sorry...man," you say. "That really bites."

"And then my mom married this no-good piece of shit man who used to beat the shit out of all of us. That no good son of a bitch...I'd kill the mother fucker if he ever..."

You lost interest as the wall turns into the sea. You hear the typical - Katz's stepdad made him turn to drugs and it's been that way since. "Five years now..." he says. It's like some big anniversary.

Katz passes out after his tirade. Your friends come get you and plan to take you to Shar's house to sober up. You take one last look at Katz. His friends are putting him on his stomach. Although you're still in la-la land, his green eyes have turned into ugly moss. You realize how far he has gone and that you cannot save him. Katz was like the one-night stand that, thankfully, never happened.

The last paragraph is my favourite, especially the last sentence.

Random thought: Going out tonight...
