It felt good working

Just saying. It was only 4 hours today and only 4 hours on Wednesday, but I'm working. I also got another job offer from the cafe to be a part-time baker. I'm only part-time at the coffeeshop right now so if we could work the hours I could do part-time at both. That's what I did last summer.

Saturday was a very fun day. Dad and I went to the Brewer game. We had very good seats. They were down 4-0 and came back to tie it going into the 9th. Trevor Hoffman came in in the 9th and made it 6-4, but my Brewers rallied back to win it 7-6! Those are my Brewers for you! :)

Sunday was a lazy'ish day. I went for a run; it was finally a non-humid morning to do so. Mom and I ran some errands in the afternoon. Sunday night was TV night: a new episode of Ice Road Truckers and Trueblood. I was tempted to watch the season premier of "Hung."

Today I got up and went for a shorter walk. I had some breakfast and WENT TO WORK!!! After work I went to the grocery store and had lunch. I did some random stuff on the computer and made dinner. I'm now watching the Brewers.

Random thought: Oooohhh lunch with Sam tomorrow. :)

Thirsty Thursday

I felt better after working out yesterday, as I blogged about earlier. It was a pretty good evening last night. I had some "grocery therapy." lol Didn't even spent $2. The Brewers won, which made me happy.

This morning I ran about 2 1/2 miles. I came home and mowed the lawn. Yay exercise! Spent most of the day inside. It's been another hot and humid day today. I got some stuff done for tomorrow. Val and I are making egg puffs for the boys tomorrow. I made some pie dough for my cherry pie for tomorrow. We're having salmon fish sticks tonight and some fries.

Oh and please keep my family in your prayers, thoughts, whatever you do. We're going through a tough and confusing situation with a family member. And I have a small family so it's hitting hard.

Random thought: BREWER GAME WITH DAD SATURDAY!!

Too warm

Thursday night brought some nasty storms so I didn't get much sleep. Friday I accepted a job offer at the coffeeshop on campus. I wanted the other job a bit more, but I would have been stupid to say no. It'll be part-time to start since a lot of the business are students and they won't be back until after Labor Day. I'll most likely start sometime this week. Mom and I ran some errands and picked up Subway for dinner. We didn't feel like cooking.

Saturday I was up early to help my friend Lindsey move out of her apartment. I'm glad we had to change the time to start earlier since it was sunny and once the late morning and afternoon progressed it got real warm real quick. I was home a little before 3:00 and took a little nap. I was outside for most of the evening talking to the neighbours and the family. We grilled for an early Father's Day treat. I had a chorizo brat with some grilled red pepper, onion and pineapple, and some raspberry salsa. It was very good.

This morning I went out for a run. I started out okay since it was cloudy, but then the sun started peaking out and that made it feel really uncomfortable so I stopped after almost 2.75 miles. Not too bad. I showered and had some breakfast. Now I am watching some baseball and deciding what I want for lunch. We'll give dad his Father's Day stuff. Tonight I'll watch the new episode of Ice Road Truckers and Trueblood.

Random thought: Fresh pineapple is delicious.

Sunday was interesting. LOL Being hungover sucks. I went on a walk before lunch. I tried to have some filling items because I essentially got rid of everything from Saturday. After lunch Lindsey called and we went for a short walk. That was nice. After the walk I helped my parents waterproof the deck. Elise, our 4-year old neighbor, invited me over to play on the slip 'n slide so I did. Her older sister Lily joined us. We played and layed out in the sun for a while. They had to eat dinner so I went home and showered. I talked with my parents for a while before making dinner and watching the season premier of Trueblood. Of course since HBO is just a trial I won't be able to catch the other episodes; maybe I can on the internet.

Yesterday morning I went for a run/walk and did some stuff before my working interview at the coffeehouse. That went well. I'll find within the week if I got it. After I came home I had some lunch and did random stuff. I watched the Brewer game. Awesome game.

I have another part-two interview in an hour so wish me luck!

Random thought: Do I want to make a road trip up to Road America this weekend?

Too much vodka

Wow too much vodka for Nicole last night.

Let's see Friday consisted of a lot of nothing. I tend to get all of my errands and duties done in the morning, which is fine but when I don't have work to do that's when I feel a bit restless. But Friday was not all like that. I picked up Luke and Lindsey and we drove downtown to meet Jolie and Justin for drinks. After drinks we did a bit of swing dancing and proceeded to have another drink. I only had one drink all evening since I was driving. I drove Luke and Lindsey home at about 12:30. I was in bed by 1:30.

Saturdayy I was up by 7:30. I watched the start of the 24 hours of LeMans and drove over to Luke's where Lindsey, Luke and I drove to the Farmer's Market. After the FM we went to the mall, had some lunch and did some grocery shopping. We went our separate ways for a bit. My mom and I went shopping. After shopping I made a cake and took a nap. After my nap I got some stuff done for my dinner. Lindsey should up a bit before 6:00 to help me prepare the enchiladas. Luke, Jolie and Justin were here by 6:30. We ate dinner, played karoke and had some drinks. God Bless Lindsey and Luke - they had to help me since I got a case of the bottle flu.

This morning I woke up feeling okay, but as soon as I started doing stuff I felt like crap. I went back to bed and now am having some pizza. Hopefully I'll feel better as the day goes on.

Random thought: Ugh.

Tuesday into Wednesday

Tuesday afternoon I went on a long walk. I also organized one of our drawers and our herb/spice/baking supply cupboard. I also swept and scrubbed the kitchen floor. I hung out with my neighbors which is always nice. We seriously have the best neighbors.

Luke picked me up at around 8:30 and we got there just before 9:00. We said hi to Jeff and he introduced us to everyone. Since they didn't go on until 10:30 we paid our cover, and then met Lindsey and went to Genna's for a drink. We ran into Nick Reynolds of all people, which was nice. We talked all talked for a bit before Lindsey left and Luke and I went to the show. They played for about 45 minutes and it was a very good show. Plus Goodbye Home has a violinist so any band with a violin I will always have an immediate liking to. We said our goodbyes and Luke drove me home. My dad was just going to bed so I talked with him for a little bit. I did some tipsy facebroking and had some corn flakes before going to bed.

This morning I slept in a bit, but still went out for a run! I felt a bit sluggish, but I went out there so that's the important thing. I relaxed and made myself some breakfast/lunch. I basically did a whole lot of nothing until my interview. It went really well and I have a follow-up Monday afternoon so keep your fingers crossed! I just finished cutting up some fruit. I'll work on dinner a bit later and call my cousin Michele. She was all concerned when she found out I lost my job, bless her heart.

Random thought: I'm hungry.

Good Lord

I had a sexual dream with Edward Cullen. Not the actor that plays him, but actually Edward Cullen. I feel dirty.

And Rani, he did not sparkle.

Random thought: 4 resumes out today, more tomorrow or Friday.

The weekend

Friday morning I woke up about 10 minutes before my alarm was to go off. I got dressed, brushed my teeth and packed up my teeth stuff. I had a small bowl of cereal before heading to the bus station. The bus got to Midway at about 5:45. I found where I would be leaving from, sat down and read for a little over an hour. I had a bit of food before getting on the bus. We arrived in South Bend at 10:40 local (Eastern) time. I only had to wait about 10 minutes for Jen and John. We drove to Warsaw and they showed me around before we stopped at this really cute deli for lunch. We went to their house, which is also really cute, and dropped my stuff off. Jen got special permission to show me inside her group home so we stopped in for a few minutes. Afterwards we went back to the house and napped. After a power nap we went out for a walk. We all talked for a bit before going out to dinner, which was a buffet and was really good. I was pretty good with my food choices. We stopped at the liquor store after dinner and went home and fixed some drinks before watching "The Dark Knight."

Saturday I was up a little after 8:00. I went out for a run. By the time I had showered Jen was just waking up and John had stopped home for a bit before work. We had some breakfast before heading out to Winona Lake; the city reminds me a little bit of Elkhart Lake. We spent some time wandering the city before heading to the trails. We were on there for about 1 1/2 hours. We got back to the house and I had some toast before heading to dinner. We had a really good dinner and I had a beer! After dinner I got some ice cream and we headed to a park just to relax and enjoy nature. Jen and I hung out in her room for a bit, talking and watching TV. We headed up bed at a little before 1:00.

Sunday we were up somewhat early for church. Church was nice. Similar to some of the services I've been to that were your "non-denominational," even though this was Methodist. After church we went to the grocery store since I was going to cook lunch. I freaked out when I found the purple potatoes. Jen took a nap after we got back so John and I cooked lunch. That was really fun just talking and cooking. We were eating by about 3:00. After lunch Jen and I watched the earl race from Milwaukee. Boring as all heck, but no dangerous crashes. I took a walk after the race. Jen was napping when I got back so I did laundry, fixed myself some dinner, looked at some old racing magazines and called the folks. Jen and I had an Ice Road Truckers date at 9:00 so we watched that. Looks like it'll be a good season. We watched TV and talked before she headed to work a bit past 11:30. I watched TV in the room I was staying in and had Stormy on my stomach as I went to bed.

Storms woke me up early on Monday. Stormy and I had some more hang-out time in bed. Since it was storming I went on Jen's elyptical for a bit before showering and finishing packing. I had some cereal and had one last lap-o-Stormy before heading out at 9:00. We said our goodbyes in South Bend. I decided to go through O'Hare since I would be home at least an hour earlier than had I gone through Midway. With the exception of visiting Elaine I think I'll go through O'Hare from now on. There are more options and I don't have to pay almost $2.50 if I want milk. We left O'Hare at about 2:30 and were back in Madison just before 5:00.

Random thought: I had a shot earlier for the Brewers. I needed it almost as much as they probably will want one.
