Today is Wednesday, tomorrow is Thursday

Because I am leaving Madison early Friday morning I am getting up earlier each day. Today I sat and read in bed for an hour which was nice. I had some breakfast, did some free weights, watched some TV and went for a walk. I had some lunch after my walk. I look a quick nap before cleaning some cupboards in the kitchen. We have so much plastic silverware - wow. I've now organized it be utencil. I worked on my Asian desserts for tomorrow. Hopefully they turned out good.

Tomorrow I'll be getting up a little before 5:00. I'm going to do a quick chore for my parents (it's quiet so I won't wake them up) and probably read. I'll try and get out for a run. Or at least a walk. I need to run some last minute errands before my trip. Then it's Asian food night with the ladies and off to bed!

Weekend in review

I had a good weekend considering my crappy Friday. I'll just do tidbits instead of writing long posts. Not really into writing a whole lot today, although I'd certainly have the time.

Friday:
I hosted a BBQ that night and had a bunch of friends over. I made some really good food and everyone had fun. After we ate we played bakery baseball (the baseball being the bakery items) and then we went to Jaime's house and enjoyed some laughter while watching Twilight.

Saturday:
I went for a run in the rain and it was AMAZING. My parents went to visit my grandmas so I lounged around a bit before getting ready for my friend's wedding. It was outdoors and it was a very lovely ceremony. After that I read and had "Band of Brothers" on in the background before heading over to Sam's for her birthday dinner and game night.

Sunday:

I went for a "short" walk before getting ready for our mini road trip. Sam walked over and Val and Ali picked us up a little after 11:00. We took our time getting up to La Crosse since Val's brother was working. To kill some time we hung out at Perrot State Park and even climbed one of the bluffs! Once Val's brother was done working we headed to the Twin Cities. A few wrong turns added some time, but we FINALLY got to the hotel. Since it was a Sunday night restaurants were already closed so we went to a grocery store, which probably ended up being cheaper. We also swam in a chlorine-heavy pool.

Monday:
We woke up early, had breakfast, cleaned up and left for the Mall of America at about 10:00. I forgot how big that place is. I didn't spend all of my money, which is fine by me. I had my two trips all budgeted out, but any money I can save I will. We left the mall at about 4:00 and got back to La Crosse just after 6:00. We stopped for ice cream and were back in Madison at around 10:00.

Random thought: On a completely unrelated note I had heard from Alison twice recently so I think I will be hearing from her on a more-regular basis. :)

Realization

After talking to Jolie and listening to God I realized that I need to let my current situation go with the flow. Whatever is meant to happen will happen and I cannot dwell on it like I sometimes do. You all know me. I'll get excited over something or start to worry about something and I'll overanalyze the situation and it will get me all in a tizzy. I'll probably still have my moments over my current situation, but hopefully I'll remember what I learned and talked about tonight.

The weekend was good. Work was busy both days, which was good. Last night my parents and I grilled for their anniversary, which was actually today. 34 years married. After work today I hung out with Val and took her to my church group. She felt like I how I felt and still feel at times, almost like she was abandoning the Catholic Church by trying something new. I still struggle with it. Not necessarily abandonment, but it's like I have my Catholic side and this new side and both are pulling at me.

Random thought: Mall of America next weekend!

I feel like poop

So whatever sickness my mom caught I now have. Ugh. I'm glad I have the day off so hopefully I can recover today as much as I can today. I'll take it easy today. My mom said no going on the treadmill first thing or she was going to yank me off! I think it's going to be a nice day so I'll go for a walk later. Brandy is going to the vet today so that'll be interesting.

The weekend was up-and-down. I was really crank at work on Saturday; I just did not want to be there. Usually Val and I work alone for most of the day on Saturdays, which is fine, but Silvia was going to work as well so I was planning on some stuff for in back. Well when I got there Silvia was leaving (she wasn't needed and was PISSED, understandably, that she woke up early and came in) and once Val got there Rhonda informed us that she was going to be leaving in 10 minutes so that threw me off. And then a few hours later I spilled coffee all over myself. Luckily I had on enough layers that I didn't burn myself. I was getting really hungry, but every time I had roughly a 5-minute window to take a quick sit someone would come in. Being hungry also makes me cranky. I know I am fortunate to have a job and shouldn't complain, but every once in a while please let me complain, okay? After work I told my parents I was going for a run to calm down, which helped.

Sunday morning I woke up with a sore throat. I actually had one going to bed, but I was hoping it was because I was thirsty. I went for a "quick" walk (almost an hour) and made blueberry-oatmeal muffins for breakfast. Mom and I got ready to leave for Milwaukee. I stopped at Cool Beans on my way for my free drink. We got to Miller Park about an hour-and-a-half before the game. We roamed a little bit before sitting down - I got my picture taken with one of the racing sausages! The Brewers lost, but we had a good time anyways. My throat REALLY hurt after the game since I was shouting a lot during the game, but that's what I get. After I we arrived home I had some dinner and we watched the F1 race and I was in bed for about 10 hours.

Today I'll take it easy or try to. Mondays I usually do, but because I'm sick and don't want to miss work (especially with my two trips coming up $$$) I want to be as healthy as I can be tomorrow.

Drunk guys and hot chicks

It's nice to be single. LOL

Val and I were walking back from dinner last night and these drunk guys enjoyed looking at us and made it known. One of them was kind of hot.

Today was an up-and-down day. I had a good workout on the treadmill, but I was dragging at the end of work. My back was really starting to bother me. I'm glad I forgot my coupon and couldn't go shopping since I was not in the right mood. Mom and I made a good dinner tonight: chicken and stuffing. She also had peas; I had crackers and peanut butter. I'm excited since I already have my breakfast picked out tomorrow. I'm making some baked oatmeal thing. I'll put less sugar and fat in it and substitute some apples and spice for the chocolate chips. Gotta try and make it healthier.

Jason Mraz is awesome

I'm soooooooooooo glad I bought tickets for the concert. I took Janice, Tim's girlfriend, and we had an awesome time. The opening girl wasn't too bad and the Plain White T's ("Hey There Dahlila") rocked it out! They should release some of their up-tempo stuff. And of course Jason Mraz was great. I was tired after working and didn't have much time to relax before the concert, but I was pumped up at the end of the night. Janice explained that at most of his concerts he only plays recent songs and new stuff he's working on. That was the case, but he did play his first mainstream hit "The Remedy."

The end of the week and the weekend went well. My buddies on their racing radio show had Will Power on! They didn't do it just for me, but I think I was an extra incentive. ;) Friday was a good day. Five of us went up to La Crosse to visit Jaime. We've been trying to organize a road trip for years (not joking on that one) to visit her up at school. And she comes home this Friday. LOL But it was fun.

Saturday morning started off with a run. It felt soooo good to do that on a weekend without lots of traffic. I showered and got ready for my concert. We went to the farmer's market. Not a lot of stuff is there since it's the beginning of the season, but we bought some stuff. I had to be downtown for my concert so I just stayed there so there wouldn't be lots of driving back-and-forth. I bought some chai, called Jen, looked at a book and windowshopped. The concert went okay. Our second to last song was really good. Tim and Janice came down that evening so we visited with them and with the neighbours. I got two beers from our neighbours - I LOVE my neighbours. lol

Sunday I worked. We were very busy, but that's good for business, although we didn't get a lot done in back. After work I went to Sam's band concert. Because of the time I could only stay for one song. I rested at home for a little bit and then went to the concert with Janice. We were both really hungry so we sucked it up and got McDonalds. I rarely do that and I exercise so once in a very small while is okay.

Random thought: Fun night with Val and Ali tonight!
